Introduction

Our self catering cottage is a self contained house on three floors. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival

• The nearest bus stop is in Crosthwaite which is 2 miles from the Cottage

• The Nearest train station is Oxenholme which is 10 miles away, there are accessible taxis at the station

• Tesco operate a home delivery service to the Peat House

• The nearest RADAR toilets are at

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is parking directly outside the cottage

• Car Parking on a slight slope with loose limestone chippings

• There is street parking but access is via a rough track to the cottage

• The entrance has a single step onto the wooden decking outside the cottage

• Parking is 6 metres from the entrance

• The entrance is accessed via the wooden decking gate which is 79cm wide with a 13cm step

• The Cottage is clearly signed from the car park

Main Entrance and Reception

• The door has a threshold which is 4cm high door sill, the door width is 70cm and the door is left hand hinged opening inward with the key hole at 90cm height, there are no hand rails

• The entrance door leads directly into the kitchen and open plan lounge areas

Public Areas – General (Internal)

• The Kitchen has a laminate floor, all other areas are carpeted with short pile carpeting, en-suite facilities have tiled floors

• Smoke alarms are fitted in the open plan Kitchen/Lounge and both bedrooms.

• The décor is white walls with light brown carpets, there are no skirting boards

Public Areas – WC

Kitchen, Dining Area and Lounge

• This open plan area can be accessed via the front door or down the stairs from the upper bedroom or up the stairs from the lower bedroom

• The dining table is oblong and has legs on each corner measuring 60x145cm and 72cm high with an under space of 65cm

• Free space around the table is 60cm at narrowest point and 145cm at widest

• Chairs (moveable) – 4 with removable seat pad and no arms

• Flooring in the kitchen/Dining Areas is laminate floor, the lounge area has short pile carpet

Laundry

• There is no separate laundry but there is a standard size washer dryer, which is front loading, provided in the kitchen

Self-Catering Kitchen

• Kitchen open plan with dining area and lounge

• Worktop height 91cm

• Oven door is drop down, height of lowest shelf is 46cm, can be accessed from side

• Sink is 91cm high with cupboards underneath

• Hob is 91cm high and electric ceramic with a flat surface

• Flooring is a laminate floor

• At least 70cm between furniture and worktops

• Evenly lit kitchen with strip lighting above work surfaces

• Good contrast between floor cupboards and other surfaces

• Fridge with small freezer available, highest shelf in fridge is 95cm high

Grounds and Gardens

• Wooden decking area directly outside the cottage with seating, table, parasol and BBQ

Additional Information

• Information folder is provided in 14 font

• Good mobile reception with Vodaphone and limited with Orange, there is a payphone at the cottage

• The cottage is no smoking

• We do not allow pets

Future Plans

• We are planning to replace the front door by October 2009 and lower the threshold - completed in February 2010, along with extending the deck area
